DuPont: New Global Automotive Technology Director
David A. Glasscock, Ph.D., has been named DuPont global automotive technology director, to bring the breadth of DuPont science-powered innovation that can help the auto industry reduce dependence on fossil fuels closer to the market.
Glasscock will work with global customer and application development teams across the 13 DuPont business units to guide medium- and long-range technical programs that address key challenges facing the global automotive industry. Primary efforts include enhancing hybrid and electric vehicle battery and insulation systems, renewable and recyclable materials, as well as advanced metals replacement programs to help significantly reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel economy.
Glasscock joined DuPont in 1990 working in Fluorochemicals R&D, then Corporate Engineering. In 1994, Glasscock joined what is now the DuPont Performance Polymers business, most recently, he was global technical services manager, responsible for managing and directing the technical team and laboratories that support the global Performance Polymers marketing function.
