Dow: New PU Plant in Russia
In December 2009, Dow Izolan, the joint venture company formed in 2006 between The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and Izolan, inaugurated its state-of-the-art polyurethane (PU) systems manufacturing facility in Vladimir, Russia. The facility will produce a broad range of rigid and flexible foam PU systems for a variety of applications including construction, automotive, consumer, footwear, furniture and appliance. The output from the new plant will further enhance Dow Izolan’s offering and delivery terms to its customers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
According to the company, the plant leverages Dow’s 60-year PU chemistry experience and Vladimir’s long tradition in PU science and technology.
The construction and start-up of the plant coincides with the 35th anniversary of Dow’s continued business presence in Russia.
