Icma San Giorgio SPA, Milan, Italy, has delivered in April a complete extrusion system to a major European pharma group. The new line extrudes several types of TPE foil for pharma applications. Gravimetric dosing units, the co-rotating extruder ICMA MCM 60 and downstream equipment of a three-roll calender and fully automated winding unit make the line.

According to the company the turn-key system encompasses complete project engineering with several customized features very tied to customer’s requirements, including solutions for assuring maximum cleaning of the entire process line commanded by critical pharma applications.

The line also incorporates several high tech digital solutions and sensor devices applied to key parts such as the calendaring movements and thickness control, to grant maximum accuracy during extrusion and the highest standard of safety for the operators.

The line was erected and tested at ICMA’s premises prior to installation at the customer’s site.
