Chinaplas 2013 Closed with Record Breaking Show Scale

With its expansion on the show scale and extension to four whole show days, Chinaplas 2013, closed on May 23, 2013 at China Import & Export Fair Complex, Pazhou, Guangzhou, PR China, attracted 114,103 visitors from 138 countries and regions, with 26.97% coming from abroad.

Compared to Chinaplas 2011 held in Guangzhou, the total number of visitors enjoyed an increase of 21.28% whereas number of overseas visitors jumped 61.36%, reaching a total of 30,770. The strong presence of overseas visitors indicated the show’s climbing international status.

The grand opening ceremony of the trade show was held on May 20, 2013. This year, Chinaplas saw a participation of 2,969 exhibitors from 38 countries and 15 country/regional pavilions, occupying an exhibition area of 220,000 sqm.

The strong attendance of overseas visitors were contributed from 137 countries and regions, with India, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and Turkey as the top ten origins. 67.9% of the overseas visitors came from Asia including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, followed by Europe (9.37%), Middle East (8.88%), America (6.39%), Africa (5.73%) and Oceania (1.73%). Among the local visitors, majority of them came from Southern China, including Guangzhou (58.11%), followed by Eastern China (including Shanghai) (27.3%), Central, Southwestern and Northwestern China (8.11%) and Northern & Northeastern China (6.48%).
