ChinaPlas 2009: Global Platform for Plastics Industry

Despite the global economic crisis, swine flu outbreak and the rainy weather in Guangzhou throughout the show period, ChinaPlas 2009, held from May 18–21, 2009 in Guangzhou, PR China, was well attended by about 70,000 buyers from all around the world. The strong participation of both exhibitors and buyers demonstrated not only the promising outlook for China’s plastics and rubber industries, but also the continuing growth of the China’s economy.

Occupying an exhibition area of 140,000sqm, ChinaPlas 2009 showcased new products and solutions as well as over 1,800 sets of machines presented by 11 country/regional pavilions, and 1,840 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions.

As Asia’s No.1 and the world’s No.3 plastics and rubber show, this year’s ChinaPlas has captured the attention of 11,340 overseas buyers, accounting for 16.4% of total visitors. Among them, 64.6% came from Asia, 9% and 8% came from Middle East and Europe respectively and the remaining were from American, Africa and Oceania.

The next ChinaPlas will take place on April 19–22, 2010 in Shanghai.
