Borealis Sells its Shares in Norner Innovation
Borealis Holding AB has sold 100% of the shares in Norner Innovation AS to the Norwegian investment fund Energi og Miljøkapital AS. The fund is managed by BTV Invest AS.
Norner Innovation AS, previously a Borealis Innovation Centre, was established on September 1st 2007 as a fully independent technology partner in the fields of gas conversion, material technology, plastic solutions, plastic additives and scientific lab services.
During the first five months of operation Norner has been very well received by the market, with more than 50 new customers and partners world-wide. A key focus area for Norner is the environment through development of advanced materials and novel technologies. Some project examples are: improved packaging solutions with less material consumption; CO2 as a resource: technology for production of biodegradable plastics from CO2 , recycling, reuse and redesign of plastics; increased safety and efficiency of solar cell production; environmentally friendly polymer based wood impregnation.
