Borealis / Borouge: Stockholm Water Prize
Borealis and Borouge have become co-founders of the prestigious Stockholm Water Prize, contributing to the promotion and reward of leadership and best practices in water and sanitation.
The award was presented by the King of Sweden in the Stockholm City Hall on August 16, 2007, during World Water Week.
This year’s prize laureate, Professor Perry L. McCarty, from Stanford University in the United States, was rewarded for his groundbreaking work in developing the scientific approach for the design and operation of water and wastewater systems. He has defined the field of environmental biotechnology, which forms the basis for small and large-scale pollution control and safe drinking water systems.
Borealis and Borouge’s co-sponsorship of the renowned Stockholm Water Prize rewards and supports world-class best practices and scientific progress to address water and sanitation challenges.
