Bayer Industry Service Becomes Currenta
Since 1st of January 2008, Bayer Industry Service has been called “Currenta”. According to Dr. Klaus Schäfer, chairman of the executive board of Bayer Industry Services, the service company hopes to be the leading managing and operating enterprise for chemical industry parks, under the new name. It aspires to offer an optimum price-performance ratio for their customers, as well as attractive conditions for investors planning to establish new industries in North West Europe. Currenta is a joint venture of Bayer and Lanxess, with the two companies’ shares of stocks (Bayer 60 %, Lanxess 40 %) unchanged. The enterprise has a staff of approx. 5000 and it expects 2007 turnover to amount to 1.7 billion Euros.
