Helmut Eckardt
Helmut Eckardt, Director of New Technologies at Battenfeld Injection Molding was enrolled in the "Hall of Fame" at Akron University, Ohio/USA as the "Pioneer of Co-Injection Molding 2006".
The "Hall of Fame" was founded by Professor James L. White. Since then, the Department of Polymer Engineering at Akron University honours one personality from science or industry for extraordinary achievements every year by enrolling them in the Hall of Fame. In 2006, this award went to Helmut Eckardt for his outstanding work in the area of multi-component or co-injection technology.
Eckardt made already a substantial contribution to the development of the first two-component or co-injection machine as early as 1973. In 1975, Battenfeld developed its first multi-component injection moulding machine, and Helmut Eckardt has concentrated on the further development and the great potential of this type of injection moulding technology from 1977 onwards. For this commitment he was now awarded.
