BASF to Build a New Plant for Ultramid in China
BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, is building a new Ultramid polymerization plant with a capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year in Shanghai, China. The new plant is planned to start up in 2015.
The company aims to locate production close to the customers in the Asia Pacific region, and intends to grow 2 % above the market in this region. At this location, BASF also has production plants for polytetrahydrofuran and polyisocyanate for the coatings and furniture finishing industry and precious metal solutions for automotive catalysts.
