Amcor Rigid Plastics, Ann Arbor, MI/USA, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rigid plastic packaging for food, beverage, spirits, personal/home care and healthcare industries, has been recognized as the Top Transformador de Bebidas (top carbonated soft drink bottle converter) by Plasticos em Revista magazine, a leading trade magazine based in São Paulo, Brazil. The award is based on a reader survey which recognizes leading suppliers and manufacturers in a range of categories including rigid beverage packaging.

In a national reader survey, conducted by Maxiquim Consulting, a leading market research company, Amcor was cited by readers as the leading converter for CSD beverage packaging. In addition to converters, awards were given in a range of categories including recycling, equipment, pigments, raw materials, and distribution. Magazine readers were permitted one vote in each category.

“We are pleased to be recognized with this honor for our longstanding commitment to the Brazilian market,” said Juan Procel, commercial director of Amcor’s Brazil business unit. “This award further reaffirms our position as one of the leading brands in the beverage, food, personal care, home care, and pharmaceutical segments.”

Amcor is a global leader in rigid and flexible packaging solutions. The company has operated in Brazil since 1998 through mergers and acquisitions of other leading companies in the packaging sector. Today, Amcor employs more than 600 workers and has injection, blow molding, and one-step operations at its six manufacturing sites throughout Brazil.

In Brazil, the company is active in a range of packaging segments including beverage (carbonated soft drinks, teas, isotonics, and water); food (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and salad dressing); personal-care products (mouthwash, shampoo, conditioners, body lotion, liquid soap); home care (liquid soap and insecticide); and pharmaceutical products (medicines for pharma labs worldwide).
