ACC: Polyurethanes Innovation Awards
The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council announced the winners for the 2008 Polyurethane "Innovation Awards" during the closing session of its Polyurethanes 2008 Technical Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
BASF Corporation received the award in the Polyurethane Chemicals category for its introduction of Pluracol BALANCE Renewable Resource Polyols, a non-food based natural alternative created using double-metal catalyst compounds intended for the 100 % replacement of conventional polyols in flexible foam applications.
The award in the Processing Equipment category was given to Graco, Inc. for its innovative Fusion CS Spray Gun with ClearShot Technolgy for foam and polyurea applications, which features a variable flow setting and the use of ClearShot Liquid to purge the mix chamber and remove built-up material.
BASF Corporation also received the award in the Finished Product category for its development of Elastocoast Elastometric Revetments, polyurethane-coated stones for use as attractive, durable coastal revetment structures.
