Stress Cracking as Failure Criterion

Environmental stress cracking is one of the most common failure causes of plastics parts. A method for describing the stress cracking in response of processing induced residual stresses was developed as a part of an IGF-research project. Therefore the time of the first crack formation as a new failure criterion in the media tensile creep test is taken into account. This method can estimate the expected lifetime.
