Right Material and Processing Parameters for Primerless Painting of Polypropylene
In the automotive industry, many injection molded plastic components are painted with multi-layer coating systems. After suitable surface pretreatment, at least one layer of primer, a basecoat, and a clearcoat are applied. A new polypropylene compound now fulfills all technical criteria without application of a primer, so saving time and money.
