Rapid Plasma Activation in the Medium Pressure Range: In-line Plasma Treatment for 3D Plastics Parts

The treatment of plastics parts with homogeneous plasma has so far been subject to considerable restrictions due to the fact that the available plasma sources have been limited to high-vacuum operation. With the introduction of Cyrannus plasma, large numbers of 3D parts can now also be economically treated in-line in the medium pressure range. The concept presented here is targeted primarily at the activation/coating of materials which are not going to be treated as bulk goods nor will need to undergo high-grade finishing, as in tool production.
