Clear Sight with New Light

Although laser transmission welding has many advantages, it has a significant drawback: absorbers are needed for the process to function correctly. When the laser wavelength is matched to the optical properties of the material, however, even absorber-free plastics can be welded nowadays. In this approach, the main challenge is to selectively melt both joining partners in their interface.
