Metal Replacement: Truck Oil Pan Made from Polyamide

Thanks especially to sophisticated methods of calculation, such as integrative simulation, large oil pans for trucks can now be produced from polyamide. This is shown by the example of the largest engine oil pans for trucks ever to be serially manufactured from polyamide 6 and 66. They meet the high requirements specified for stone-impact resistance, flange leak-tightness, and other properties, while also withstanding the dynamic and static loads when the heavy weight of the entire engine block rests on them.
